In order to work in Australia, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or obtain a temporary working visa from the Department of Immigration.

You should also be registered for tax with the Australian Tax Office, otherwise you will be taxed at a higher rate with no opportunity for a refund upon departing the country.
