'Flights of Fantasy' was brought into fruition by a small team of people dedicated not only to the healing power of the creative arts but also to self-discovery through human relationships. Even though co-operatives may reflect and serve the wider community in different ways, they are primarily about people learning to work together. |

| Working together not for ego, power, or monetary gain but to embrace our shadows, our pettiness, our sadness, our joys, our hopes and our love. The key to co-operation always lies within. | |||||||||||||

Black Possum Publishing Co-operative Society Ltd is a publishing co-operative established in Maleny, Queensland in January 1990. Since then 78 members have joined this group which is managed by a Board of directors. The co-operative was established primarily to provide an opportunity for writers and artists of the Sunshine coast and the Hinterland to see their work in print. Most of the work is done on a voluntary basis. Flights of Fantasy, their fourth major production, is a collection of original short stories, poems and artwork. Journey with us into magical, romantic, humorous, macabre and mystical worlds. Meet the woman who turned into a fish, the mysterious 'It', the hermit and the octagonal cloud, the wizard Amazmakka, a Russian fairy and a dung beetle … Mary's poem 'Stuffed with Fantasy' appears on p.86 |
